Marit Stiles chosen to be the NDP candidate in Davenport

DAVENPORT — New Democrats in Davenport have again selected MPP Marit Stiles to be their NDP candidate in the 2022 provincial election. Stiles, a former school board trustee, currently serves as the Official Opposition’s Education critic.

Quotes

Official Opposition NDP Leader Andrea Horwath
“Marit has been a fierce advocate for students, families, education workers and teachers, and a powerful defender of Ontario’s public education system in the fight to stop Doug Ford’s slash-and-burn scheme to hike class sizes and take away thousands of educators. She’s a valuable and respected member of our caucus, and an inspiring leader in her community, known for always taking time to listen and always making time to help. I’m thrilled that she’s on the team and, together, we’re going to make life better for Davenport families when we form government in 2022.”

Marit Stiles, NDP candidate for Davenport
“I’m thrilled to have the support of New Democrats as I seek re-election in our beloved community of Davenport. It’s an enormous privilege to represent this extraordinary community and an honour to do so. Doug Ford’s cuts have hurt families here, and, with Andrea Horwath’s strong leadership, I know there’s so much more we can to do give people in this community, and communities all over the province, more homes they can afford, stronger health care, a new and much better public home care and long-term care system, and stronger public schools that give our kids more opportunities.”
